I got a call from TJ (CFFFS longest and first client) this afternoon telling me there are no flowers at the Vancouver Aquatic Center. I told him I knew this and tried calling him earlier to advise one of our donors did not have flowers today so he shouldn’t go to the center – but he wasn’t home.
Anyway, he said he was finally going to get an answering machine. And I said I was finally going to solve our lack of drivers issue – or at least try harder.
You see with more drivers we can schedule more pick ups from more places and clients like TJ will always have a steady source of flowers (income). I can (anyone can) see see how he is earnestly trying to better his Life – and to be honest it’s the inspiration for this (my first) blog post.
I can truly see how he is working so hard to pull it all together, still… despite all the challenges and oppositions – and that’s just what I’ve seen in the past five years. Since then I’ve been to court on his behalf, seen him repeatedly at St. Paul’s Hospital, and heard him recall many personal (less than cheerful) stories, yet he’s still remaining positive and trying to move forward. To me this is inspirational character.
Okay, so back to the point, we truly need drivers; so if you are able to help or know of someone else who is, please contact us. Drivers are only needed once a week for perhaps 1 hour. We pay mileage and buy you a cup of coffee. Many thanks.
